Tinubu to Induct Five Helicopters into Nigerian Air Force Fleet
President Bola Tinubu is expected to induct five helicopters into the Nigerian Air Force fleet as part of efforts to strengthen military operations against security threats across the country.
The aircraft comprise two Airbus H-125 helicopters and three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters manufactured by Italy-based Leonardo Helicopters.
The ceremony, announced by the Nigerian Air Force on its official X account, will also feature the commissioning of newly constructed hangars at the Presidential Air Fleet facility in Abuja.
Tinubu is expected to attend as the special guest of honour, while the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, will host the event scheduled for 10a.m.
The Federal Government had earlier taken delivery of the five helicopters as part of efforts to modernise the Air Force, enhance operational capacity and improve its response to security challenges.
The induction is expected to further strengthen the Nigerian Air Force’s aviation assets as the military continues operations against insecurity across the country.
