Oyebanji Begins Second Term, Promises More Development in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, and his deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, have been sworn in for a second term in office, with a pledge to consolidate the achievements of the first administration and pursue new development initiatives across the state.

Governor Oyebanji at the inauguration ceremony held at Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, promised that his second term would usher in another phase of development, with greater emphasis on industrialisation, economic growth and improved living standards for residents.

The governor said his administration would sustain its commitment to the six pillars of the administration, which have served as the foundation of its development agenda.

Oyebanji pledged to build on the progress recorded during his first term while introducing initiatives aimed at expanding economic opportunities, strengthening the state’s productive capacity and improving the welfare of the people.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event.

In his remarks, the Vice President congratulated Governor Oyebanji and his deputy on their re-election and inauguration, describing the occasion as a significant milestone in the political history of Ekiti State.

Shettima called for increased support from the Federal Government for the state, noting the importance of collaboration between the federal and state governments in driving development.

He also urged the people of Ekiti State to sustain their support for President Tinubu’s administration and continue to cooperate with Governor Oyebanji to enable him to deliver on his promises during the second term.

The inauguration marks the beginning of another four-year tenure for the governor and his deputy, with expectations centred on continuity in governance, economic expansion, industrial development and the implementation of the administration’s development agenda.
