Subsidy removal palliatives: Ekiti distributes 20,000 bags of rice

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has said that his administration has not resorted to borrowing to finance infrastructural projects in the past one and a half years.

Oyebanji, who spoke at the distribution of 20,000 bags of rice in another tranche of palliatives to residents in Ado Ekiti, emphasised that his administration has successfully mitigated the impact of the fuel subsidy removal with the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The governor reiterated his commitment to finding permanent solutions to the high cost of food in the state through various agricultural sector interventions.

He revealed plans to partner with the private sector to revolutionise agriculture, aiming to boost food production with over 2000 hectares of land cleared for this purpose.

Oyebanji called on local government authorities to align with the state’s agricultural reform programmes to tackle the high cost of food prices effectively.

The Chairman, Ekiti State Palliative Distribution Committee, and also the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, assured that the palliative will be distributed into various groups without any political coloration.
