Federal government beams searchlight on suspected terror financiers

The federal government is beaming its searchlight on individuals financing the Boko Haram and its affiliates in the country.

This was made known by the director of Nigerian financial intelligence unit, Mohammed Jiya.

Jiya spoke at the opening session of a five-day compliance summit.

The summit was organised by the inter-governmental action group against money laundering in West Africa, Giaba.

Three of top 10 countries in the 2022 global terrorism index, were from West Africa.
