Ondo govt frowns at illegal closure of markets

Henceforth, Ondo State government says no mining activities will be permitted except due process is followed.

This is part of the outcome of the state executive council meeting presided over by governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Commissioner for Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources Razaq Obe told newsmen that any land owner who flaunt the order would have his Certificate of Occupancy revoked.

Obe observed that illegal mining activities is capable of causing environmental disaster.

Part of the resolution of the state council is to ensure strict compliance with COVID-19 guidelines by residents.

The Special Adviser to the governor on health Dr Francis Faduyile about 350 cases of the virus are active as at present in Ondo State.

Faduyile disclosed that one death was recorded in Okitipupa last week.

The attorney general and commissioner for justice Titiloye Charles said the act is no more acceptable.
