Earthquake Kills 7 in Croatia

At least seven people are known to have died in a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck central Croatia on Tuesday.

Rescue teams spent the night scouring the rubble of damaged buildings in the search for survivors.

The prime minister said a 12-year-old girl was killed in Petrinja, while his deputy said five people died in the nearby town of Glina.

The seventh victim was found in the rubble of a church in Zazina.

The earthquake was felt in the Croatian capital Zagreb, in neighbouring Bosnia and Serbia, and as far away as Italy.
