Buhari to meet with PTF today amidst COVID-19 second wave

President Muhammadu Buhari is meeting with the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on covid-19 this afternoon at the Aso Rock villa.

The presidency announced this via the Twitter handle @NGRPresident.

On Monday, the Presidential Task Force ordered the closure of all bars, event centres, recreational venues, restaurants, bars and night-clubs.

Only restaurants providing services to hotel residents, take-aways, and home deliveries can operate.

Also, attendance at all formal and informal events, including conferences, end-of-the-year events, office parties, concerts, seminars, sporting activities and weddings is restricted to 50 persons.

Gatherings at religious centres or events are limited to 50 percent capacity of the facility in use and physical distancing and use of face masks are mandatory during such programmes.

Also, schools are to remain closed till at least 18 January, 2021.

The chairman of the PTF and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said all these measures are in response to the second wave of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
