Ondo state judicial panel receives 32 petitions
Ondo State judicial panel of inquiry on police brutality and extra judicial killings has commenced sitting in Akure, the state capital.
The panel headed by justice Adesola Sidiq, a judge of the state high court had so far received 32 petitions since it inauguration by the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
In his address,the chairman of the panel justice Adesola Sidiq noted that sitting is to ensure that justice is done to addressed complaints of police brutality and extra judicial killings by some officers of the disbanded SARS.
He sought the full cooperation of the petitioners in ensuring a successfull proceedings.
He said petitioners must present with convincing facts and evidences before the panel as adequate compensations await those that could prove their Case beyond reasonable doubt.
The chairman assured the petitioners of their impartiality, fairness and strict commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Meanwhile, panel will be sitting on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays
