Ekiti monarch joins ancestors

The Olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti, in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Gabriel Agbaje Aladegbami the 3rd has joined his ancestors.

Our Correspondent gathered that the monarch died about three days ago at his palace in Ifaki Ekiti.

However, there has been uncertainty about his death since, as some chiefs in the palace claimed that the monarch was hale and hearty.

The Onigemo of Ifaki Ekiti who spoke with our Correspondent in a telephone interview said he could not confirm the death of the monarch as some traditional rites have not been done, hence the monarch cannot be pronounced dead.

However, situation report from Ifaki-Ekiti to the Headquarters of Ido/Osi Local Government Area proved the demise of the traditional ruler as the Local government Chairman, Mr. Adeola Ayodimeji said he received a letter from the palace confirming his death.

Meanwhile there has been palpable calm in the community over the incident.

Oba Gabriel Agbaje Aladegbami the 3rd was one of the longest reigning monarch in Ekiti State, who has lived and ruled his community for about 40 years.
