Ondo Decides 2020: Voting Ends in Some LGAs

Voting has ended in some polling units across Akure South and North Local Government Areas of Ondo State.

In most of the Polling Units visited, electorates described the conduct of the elections as peaceful and Observer group who also monitored the exercise in the area lauded the conduct of the polls.

Meanwhile, electorates in the area are waiting at the polling units after casting their ballots, contrary to the instruction of caring their and go back home.

Though, there were allegations of vote buying at the unit 006 ward 009 at Obaile area of Akure North, though the allegation could not be substantiated as party agents denied the allegation.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and voters at the polling unit 001, ward six Ilekun community in Oda town voters were seen violating COVID-19 protocol, as they also failed to comply with the regulations.

While the Covid-19 regulations was strictly adhered to in some other polling units in Iju, Akure North local government area.

As at the time of filling this report no voters was on queue to cast their votes as INEC adhoc staff are waiting for the deadline.
