Ondo Election: NBC frowns at hate speech
The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has vowed to descend heavily on any media organisation that air hate speech, inflammatory or derogatory statements.
The acting director general of the agency, Professor Armstrong Idachaba spoke at a stakeholders meeting on political broadcast ahead of the 2020 Ondo state governorship poll.
Idachaba urged media houses to ensure decent political comments on their channels.
The general manager of Adaba FM, Sir Martins Ayoola, who is one of the participant said the meeting is a reminder of the function of media organisations.
At the meeting, presentations were made on the need for professionalism during political coverage and what the NBC code says.
