Ebonyi government threatens sack of striking workers

The Ebonyi state government has ordered members of the judiciary staff union of Nigeria in the state, to immediately suspend their industrial action or be sacked.

The order is contained in a statement issued on Friday   by the state head of service, Dr Chamberlain Nwele.

Jusun defied Governor David Umahi’s threat to sack the members, if they embarked on the strike.

The union embarked on an indefinite strike on August the 13th over non-implementation of the consolidated judiciary salary structure by the state government.

The state governor, David Umahi believes the industrial action is as an act of sabotage which the government will not tolerate.
