COVID-19: ODHA promises realistic implementation of revised 2020 budget

The Ondo State House of Assembly has promised an inclusive consideration of the revised 2020 budget proposal in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chairman, House Adhoc Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Sunday Olajide made the pledge during the committee’s meeting with some Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

He said the review became important to enable the state sustain its economy, especially in the face of the coronavirus ravaging the world.

Olajide called for the cooperation of the concerned stakeholders in making the revised budget proposal a reality.

He said that the committee would submit its report to the plenary session of the assembly for passage in due time.

In his remarks, the state Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Emmanuel igbasan appealed to the committee to approach the budget review as a matter of necessity.

Similarly, state Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa said the revised budget proposal would enable the state to key into some intervention funds, which would be used for developmental projects.

The MDAs present included the ministry of Agriculture and Agric business, health, Justice, finance, Information and economic planning and budget.
