Oyetola signs Osun’s reduced 2020 budget

Osun state Governor Gboyega Oyetola has signed 2020 revised budget of 82.2 billion into law

The budget was reduced from the initial N119.5billion to N82.2billion, representing a 32 per cent reduction.

While speaking during the official signing ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Osogbo, Oyetola said the current economic realities occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic necessitated a downward review of the budget.

The governor also made clarification on the allocation of ‘N9billion to fight COVID-19’, stressing that a larger percentage of the allocation was to cater for post-Coronavirus era.

While presenting the budget the speaker of the state House of Assembly Owoeye commended the effort of the state government in combating COVID-19 pledging the support of the 7th assembly in ensuring socio -economic growth and development of the state.

Agriculture, Mining and commerce took the lion share of the budget as part of Government’s efforts to revive the economy already battered by the effect of the coronavirus pandemic
