Police Pledge Cooperation With Amotekun

The governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi has lauded the president Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration for its quick response to the agitation of having a police zonal command closer to the state.

Fayemi gave the commendation while playing host to the pioneer assistant inspector general of police, AIG David Folawiyo of zone 17, Akure at the governor’s office in Ado Ekiti.

The governor pointed out that such move has further demonstrated the desire of the Mohammadu Buhari’s plan of devolution of policing to the local level thereby bringing policing closer to the people.

In a remark, the visiting AIG, David Folawiyo explained that strengthening community policing will be the focal point of his operations with a view to fortifying the territory of Ondo and Ekiti states against any security threat that might surface.

The new AIG further stressed that his operation will be impactful with a lot of mentoring and training of its officers, while also promising to work with government to enhance the capacity of the southwest security network popularly known as Amotekun corps in both states.

The AIG solicited the support of the state governments to further boost his operation in both Ondo and Ekiti states.
