Buhari evaluates gains of border closure
The federal government says the partial closure of land borders is yielding positive results as domestic fuel consumption drops by more than 30 percent.
In a statement, president Muhammadu Buhari, says the border closure will save the country billions of naira on import bills.
Buhari notes that he has not given any date for the re-opening of the land border.
He admits that border communities are experiencing hardship following the ban on sale of fuel in stations to the border.
The president explains that the closure would not have been necessary but for the deep rooted dishonesty in the country.
