Reactions trail Governor Adeleke’s 332 boreholes

Mixed reactions have started trailing the boreholes that governor of osun state Ademola Adeleke says he has sunk across all the 332 local Government area of the state.

The initiative which should be commended has rather received condemnation due to its non functioning in some places

In this special report Adaba FM correspondent Tolulope faleye went to some of the locations of the installed boreholes to interact with the residents.

On the 7th of March Osun state governor Ademola Adeleke marked his 100days in office.

While reeling out his achievement Governor Adeleke said he has sunk boreholes across all the 332 wards across the state to provide portable water for the people of the state.

Two months after most of the boreholes sunk in some local government are yet to function and in some local government no borehole has been sunk and this has generated reaction from groups and individuals.

A visit to wards 3 and 4 in olorunda local government the boreholes installed their are not bringing out water

While at ward 3 and 6 in ilobu irepodun local government no borehole was sunk and out of two sunk at ward 2 and 4 only one is functioning

A human rights activist Ayo ologun frowned at the inability of the initiative to serve its purpose despite the huge amount claimed to have been spent on the project by the state government

Some residents who spoke in yoruba ayandokun want the state government to complete the borehole as soon as possible.

In his reaction media aide to governor Ademola Adeleke, seyi Adeniyi who confirmed that borehole are yet to be sunk in some local government noted that the ones that have been installed are working perfectly and few that are not working will be attended to.

Adeniyi reiterated the governor commitment in priortising the welfare of the people of the state.
