(PHOTOS) Osun residents protest against economic hardship

On Monday, Coalition of Civil Societies Organisation, students, residents took to the Streets of Osogbo the Osun state capital to protest over high cost of living in the country.

The protesters carrying placards with various inscription want President Bola Tinubu to end the hardship and unbearable inflation in the country.

Adaba f. M’s correspondent Tolulope Faleye who was there said the group converged at the popular Freedom Nelson Mandela’s Park in Osogbo to protest against the prevailing rising cost of goods and services in the country.

The protesters marched through strategic areas in the state capital to show their displeasure on the current situation of things in the country.

There was heavy presence of security operatives watching over the protesters in order to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

While speaking to newsmen, some of the protesters Waheed Saka and Wale Balogun said the economic crises and soaring prices of food stuff and other items have left many Nigerians struggling to afford basic needs.

Saka and Balogun urged President Tinubu to fulfil his campaign promises by ameliorating the suffering of Nigerians.

Also speaking, another protester Yinka Popoola explained that people are experiencing excruciating pain as a result of government policies especially the removal of fuel subsidy.

They therefore vowed to continue the protest until the federal government find a lasting solution to the economic hardship ravaging the country.
