Police confirm release of abducted Ekiti Pupils, Teachers

The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the release of abducted pupils and staff of the Apostolic Faith Montessori Nursery and Primary School in Emure, Ekiti.

The force public relations officer in Ekiti, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed this to Adaba FM, said that the abducted persons were released around 1:30 on Sunday morning. 

He said that since the incidents, police and other security agents have been on their toes to ensure the safe return of the victims. 

He confirmed the killing of the school bus driver, Mr. Taye Rasaki, by the gunmen. 

Abutu, however, did not comment on whether ransom was paid to the kidnappers before the victims were released.
 
Meanwhile, the victims had been taken to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, for medical attention.
