Assembly Election: Hoodlums invade polling unit, snatch ballot box in Idanre

The people of Idanre has alleged the case of snatching of ballot box in Abana Ward 1 unit 5, Odode Idanre.

It was reported that the incident happened at Jìgbokin Ọjà Alẹ́, Odode Idanre while voting process was about to be concluded.

Those who spoke with Adaba FM correspondent Adegboyega Alani alleged that the miscreants invaded the polling unit when the voters who exercised their franchise were waiting for the sorting and counting of ballot papers.

An eye witness, Mr. Sunday Adebayo said that the thugs attacked the polling unit with firearms and disrupted the peace enjoyed by voters who were relaxing after voting as they shoot sporadically into the air.

On his part, Mr. Omolade Akinyele, who is also a registered voter of the uit said that efforts to call on security personnel when the incident happened proved abortive.
