Amotekun arrests man with fake Naira notes in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, has arrested and paraded a 50-year Celesten Nwoha for going about with fake 1000 naira notes.

The Commandant of the Corps, Rtd Brig. General Joe Komolafe, said that the suspect was arrested in Omuo Ekiti after an alarm was raised by a Point of Sales Agent.

He explained that the suspect was arrested with a bundle of one thousand naira fake notes, adding that efforts were on to arrest other members of the syndicate.

General Komolafe advised members of the public to be wary of fake notes in circulation as the scarcity of the new notes could encourage criminals to go into printing fake currencies.

The Amotekun Commandant said that the suspect would be handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
