Military denies alleged pressure to compromise 2023 elections
The military high command has accused the media of twisting the comment of chief of defence staff, General Lucky Irabor, to convey what he called a “sinister meaning.”
In a statement on Friday by the director, defence information, major general Jimmy Akpor, neither the military nor other security agencies are under pressure to scuttle the election next year.
The statement says the impression is false and an attempt to twist what was said.
