Amotekun nabs suspected cable wire theft kingpin, others in Ekiti

The Southwestern Security Network otherwise known as Amotekun Corps in Ekiti State have arrested a fleeing suspect who was a kingpin among others arrested in connection with the case of electricity cable wire theft and vandalization paraded last week.

Corps Commander, Brig. Joe Komolafe (rtd.) who paraded the suspect along three others before journalists in Ado-Ekiti said the suspect is an ex-convict who was just released from prison during visit to correctional centre by the chief judge of the State, Justice Adeyeye Oyewole sometimes in July this year.

Komolafe further explained that the suspects were arrested by men of the corps in their hideout in Ado-Ekiti the state capital following a tip-off by members of the public.

One of the suspects who identified himself as Niyi Akomolafe confessed to the crime, also explained various roles he played in the electricity cable wires, vandalization and some other criminal activities he has participated in the State.
The Amotekun Corps however promised to charge the suspects to court once investigations are concluded in the matter.
