Ondo bye-Election: Akeredolu Orders restriction of movement

Ondo state government has ordered the restriction of human and vehicular movement to ensure a violence-free exercise in the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency bye-election scheduled for tomorrow.

The restriction is from 12 midnight of Today to 5pm of Saturday within the affected electoral jurisdiction.

A statement by the commissioner for Information Donald Ojogo says all routes leading to the Federal Constituency from areas outside the prescribed jurisdiction are equally closed to vehicular movements.

The statement notes that only vehicles and personnel on electoral duties,  essential assignments as well as emergency medical movements are exempted from the restriction order.

It adds that security agencies have been mandated to enforce the directive forthwith.
