Aisha Buhari Cup: Lagos first lady commends Organizing Committee

Wife of Lagos state governor Mrs Ibironke Sanwo-Olu says she is personally excited by the remodelling of the Mobolaji Johnson Arena known as Onikan stadium venue of the Aisha Buhari soccer tourney

Mrs Sanwo-Olu commended the Local Organizing Committee for the ideals, vision, and mission set for the tournament, and for encouraging the Future Assured Programme of the First Lady of the Federal Republic, Mrs Aisha Buhari.

She said the venue and organization attracted confederation of Africa football as well as world football governing body FIFA saying Lagos will always lead while others follow

First Vice President Nigeria football federation and chairman Lagos state football association, Bar Seyi Akinwunmi commended contractors who handled the remodeling of the stadium

It would be recalled that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu paid an unscheduled visit to the venue twice to inspect work done and hasten the contractors to finish up the project before today’s opening ceremony and first match.

Reigning African champions , super falcons of Nigeria will meet the Atlas Lioness of Mali in the first match of the tournament
