Millions of Australians download COVID-19 tracker

2.4 million Australian citizens have downloaded and registered for the government’s coronavirus contact tracing app.

Australian health minister, Greg Hunt, revealed this to newsmen this morning.

The COVIDsafe smartphone app will notify users if they have had more than 15 minutes of close contact with another user who tests positive.

Mr Hunt said 6,727 cases of coronavirus had been confirmed in Australia, along with 85 deaths.

The health minister maintained that the country is not just flattening the curve but consolidating, extending and securing it.
