Political thugs kill federal lawmaker in Ibadan

Suspected political thugs have shot dead a federal lawmaker, Temitope Olatoye.

Until his death, Mr Olatoye, popularly called sugar, was the legislator representing Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency in the house of representatives.

Witnesses say, Olatoye was given a close gun shot in the eyes when he didn’t allow some men to snatch ballot boxes where he cast his vote.

He voted at Alape ward 13, Lagelu village of Oyo state.

Late Olatoye dumped the APC last year and joined the ADP under which he contested for the state’s central senatorial seat on February 23 but lost to Teslim Folarin.

He died at the intensive care unit of UCH, Ibadan.

Olatoye’s death has been confirmed by the chief PRO of UCH, Toye Akinrinola.
