Sterling late goal gives City victory

Raheem Sterling scored a last-gasp winner as Pep Guardiola’s 10-man staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Schalke 04 3 – 2.

Manchester City took the lead just 20 minutes through Sergio Aguero but Schalke 04 equalized and took the lead before the break through Nabil Bentaleb’s two spot kicks.

Leroy Sane came off the bench and hit in a stunning free kick against his former side after the Blues had been reduced to 10 men following Otamendi’s dismissal for a second booking.

In the other fixture of the night, Atletico Madrid defeated Ronaldo’s Juventus 2 – 0 at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

The second leg of the fixtures will be played in two weeks time.
