Corruption Allegation: South Africa’s parliament set to begin inquiry

South Africa’s parliament is set to begin an inquiry into alleged corruption at the highest levels of government.

Whistle-blowers and prominent officials are expected to be called to give evidence into what has been described as a state capture.

The report says ministers, tycoons, the president’s son, and many other witnesses are likely to be summoned and grilled by members of parliament.

Local media have predicted the next few days to be uncomfortable ones for some powerful people in South Africa.

Meanwhile, some South Africans see the inquiry as a poor substitute for police investigations, arrests, and trials.
