Facebook Live: Adeosun attributed wastage of resources by Govt to non-tax payment

Finance minister, Kemi Adeosun has attributed wastage of resources by state governments to non-compliance to tax payment by many Nigerians.

The minister made the clarification during a Facebook live video chat tagged tax Thursday.

Adeosun said the case is most worrisome at the state level due to corruption and resources leakage.

She explained that citizens would hold state government accountable when they pay their taxes, which is part of their civic responsibility.

Adeosun noted that paying taxes as at when due will create vigilance on the part of taxpayers on the activities of government at various levels which will make them accountable to the people.
