Weiner has been transferred to a halfway house in Brooklyn where he will remain under supervision for the rest of his sentence.
Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in jail in September 2017.
He pleaded guilty to exchanging sexually explicit messages with a 15-year-old girl from North Carolina.
The lawmaker quit congress in 2011 after graphic image sent from his twitter account went public and was exposed in his 2013 run for New York mayor.
