Pope Francis reminds people of God’s love in Christmas message

Pope Francis has ushered in Christmas by saying god loves everyone.

He was speaking to thousands of people in St Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.

Pope Francis will return to St Peter’s Basilica later today to deliver the traditional papal message to the world.

Among those taking part in the mass at the Vatican were children chosen from countries including Venezuela, Iraq and Uganda.

In his message, the pope alluded to the clerical abuse and financial scandals afflicting the church.
