Police Nab Suspected Gun Manufacturer in Ile-Oluji

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 53-year-old suspected arms manufacturer, Kareem Fatia, in Ile-Oluji for allegedly producing and supplying locally made guns to criminal networks.

Police Public Relations Officer, Olushola Ayanlade, said detectives attached to Yaba Division stormed the Eyingun-Owode area on the 15th of October, following credible intelligence.

He added that, three single-barrel guns, three Dane guns, and an unfinished gun barrel were recovered from a bush behind the suspect’s residence.

Two other suspects were also arrested in connection with the crime.

In the statement, Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the Command’s renewed crackdown on illegal arms.

He warned those involved in gun fabrication or trafficking to desist or face prosecution.
