Ondo State Mourns Passing of Chief Imam of Owo
Ondo State is mourning the passing of Sheikh (Dr.) Imam Alhaji Mayor Ahmad Olagoke Aladesawe, the Chief Imam of Owo.
He died at the age of 91.
Until his death, Sheikh Aladesawe served as the Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ondo State and the Secretary-General of the League in the Southwest, Edo, and Delta States.
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, in a condolence message, described the late cleric as “a revered spiritual guide of uncommon wisdom and a source of inspiration to the Muslim Ummah and the larger society.”
The Governor said Sheikh Aladesawe dedicated his life to the service of Allah and humanity and will be remembered for his commitment to peace, unity, and moral guidance.
He extended condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Ondo State to the deceased’s family, the Muslim community, and the people of Owo.
Governor Aiyedatiwa prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive Sheikh Aladesawe’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannah Firdaus, and give comfort to all who mourn his passing.
