Ondo Police Bust Human Trafficking Ring, Rescue over 30 Ghanaians

The Ondo State Police Command has rescued a Ghanaian national and uncovered a human trafficking syndicate operating within Akure, the state capital.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Yinka Ayanlade, the victim, identified as David Angerinya, was lured into Nigeria under the false promise of gainful employment.

Operatives of the Tactical Intelligence Response Squad arrested three suspects in connection with the crime: Hayford Nyamekye, Awine Alex, and Kojo Felix.

Further investigations led to the discovery of 39 more Ghanaian nationals, most of whom were found without valid travel documents.

Preliminary findings suggest the syndicate specializes in deceiving West African nationals with fake job and visa offers to Canada and other Western countries.

All suspects are currently in custody, while investigations continue to uncover the full extent of the trafficking network.
