Ondo Police Arrest Two Over ₦25m Facebook Fraud
The Ondo State Police Command says it has arrested two suspects over conspiracy, fraud, and stealing of 25 million Naira.
Police spokesman Olayinka Ayanlade said the suspects, Ojo Oluwafemi and Omowunmi Balogun, were tracked and arrested in Ijebu-Ijesha and Akure.
The case followed a petition by Prince Adebola Adoye, who reported that the suspects defrauded him through a Facebook platform in 2024.
Detectives from the Command’s Special Enquiry Unit carried out intelligence operations before the arrests in July 2025.
Police Commissioner Adebowale Lawal warned fraudsters and cybercriminals that the Ondo State Command will not allow them to operate freely.
The police urged the public to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and avoid falling victim to online scams.
