Gov. Adeleke Dumps PDP, Joins Accord Party for 2026 Re-Election Bid
Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke has formally unveiled the Accord Party as his new political platform, confirming his intention to seek a second term in the 2026 governorship election.
The announcement was made at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo, during a meeting attended by national and state leaders of the Accord Party.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor revealed that he officially joined the Accord Party on November 6, after weeks of consultations with stakeholders and political associates across the state.
Adeleke explained that his decision to leave the PDP and adopt Accord as his new platform was driven by the need to complete ongoing developmental projects and sustain what he described as the delivery of good governance in Osun State.
He added that the Accord Party’s philosophy of welfarism aligns strongly with his administration’s focus on citizens’ and workers’ welfare, which he said remains a priority of his government.
Governor Adeleke expressed confidence that residents of the state will support his re-election bid under the Accord Party as preparations for the 2026 election gather momentum.
