Femi Falana okays state police

A human right lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Femi Falana says Nigerian president cannot approve the state police by fiat.

Falana said creation of state police is a constitutional matter.

He was speaking with journalists in Lagos.

Femi Falana said before a state police can be established, a bill has to go to the national assembly.

Falana said state governors have to share police power with the president as stipulated by law.

He however said establishment of state police is inevitable.
