Ekiti Police Nab Two Suspected Car Thieves, Recover Stolen Vehicles
The Ekiti State Police Command has apprehended two suspected notorious car thieves in Ado-Ekiti, recovering two vehicles in the process.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday says, operatives of the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested 35-year-old Bamisaye Abiodun and 35-year-old Olaniyi Jamiu following a credible tip-off.
Investigations revealed that the duo, alongside other accomplices currently at large, belong to a syndicate specializing in stealing parked vehicles across Ado-Ekiti metropolis and reselling them to criminal receivers.
The suspects, during interrogation, confessed to the crime and admitted to being associates of one Babalola Ezekiel, a notorious armed robber who was arrested and prosecuted in 2024 for armed robbery and murder.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, assured the public that the Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
