COAS Seeks Stronger Army-Media Collaboration for National Security
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the media to enhance national security and drive development.
Oluyede made the call during the second quarter edition of the Nigerian Army Civil-Military Cooperation media chat held in Akure. He was represented by the General Officer Commanding the 2nd Division, Major General Obinna Onubogu.
Describing the media as a critical partner in the fight against insecurity, the Army Chief urged journalists to uphold accuracy and responsibility in their reportage. He warned against the dangers of fake news and sensationalism, noting that such practices could threaten national unity.
Oluyede commended the achievements of Nigerian troops across the country, including successful rescue operations and the restoration of peace in previously volatile communities.
He reaffirmed the Army’s unwavering loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support.
