Adeleke Emerges Accord Party Governorship Candidate for 2026
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Accord Party for the 2026 election.
He was elected unopposed at the party’s primary held in Osogbo, which had one hundred and fifty accredited delegates drawn from the thirty local government areas of the state.
While Announcing the results, the Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Abdulazeez Abdulakeem, explained that out of the one hundred and fifty votes cast, one hundred and forty-five were valid, while five were declared void.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Adeleke thanked delegates and party leaders for the confidence reposed in him, describing his emergence as a renewed mandate to advance good governance and democratic dividends in Osun State.
He also unveiled an upgraded five-point agenda focusing on integrated citizens’ and workers’ welfare, infrastructure consolidation for economic growth, agro-industrial expansion for youth empowerment, innovation in health and education, and an improved business environment to boost job creation.
The National Chairman of the Accord Party, Maxwell Ngbudem, later presented Governor Adeleke with a Certificate of Return as the party’s flag-bearer for the 2026 governorship election.
