Ondo Police Arrest Fake Army Colonel Over ₦1.3m Job Scam

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a man who allegedly posed as a senior army officer to defraud job seekers of over one point three million naira.

Police Public Relations Officer, Olushola Ayanlade, in a statement, said the suspect, Abdullahi Saliu of Top Quality Hotel, was arrested, for parading himself as a Colonel in the Nigerian Army.

The report says he collected over 1.3 million naira from two women, promising to secure jobs for their children in the Nigeria Customs and Immigration Services.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had operated across several states, impersonating officers of the Army, Navy, Customs, and Immigration in order to dupe unsuspecting victims.

The statement added that Saliu has been arraigned before Magistrate Court for prosecution, while the Command vowed to continue its crackdown on fraudsters and impersonators.
