Oyebanji Strengthens Ekiti Executive Council with Three Commissioners, Ten Special Advisers
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has sworn in three new commissioners and ten Special Advisers into the State Executive Council, charging them to demonstrate commitment, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties.
The governor, who gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, said the new appointees must not allow their appointments to breed complacency, stressing that the responsibility of serving the people requires hard work, discipline and measurable results.
Oyebanji explained that their appointments were based on the need to strengthen governance, deepen the delivery of democratic dividends and reposition the administration for more effective service delivery.
He reminded the appointees that public office was a call to service rather than an avenue for personal gains, urging them to place the interests of Ekiti people above every other consideration.
The governor further charged them to see their appointments as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state, particularly as his administration intensifies efforts to fulfil its development agenda.
He emphasised that his government would not tolerate laziness, indifference or any attitude capable of slowing down the pace of development, adding that every appointee would be expected to justify the confidence reposed in them through tangible achievements.
Oyebanji also urged the new commissioners and Special Advisers to work in harmony with other members of the State Executive Council, permanent secretaries and relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of government policies and programmes.
