Sanwo-Olu postpones peace for walks over omicron fears

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has suspended the proposed walk for peace rally due to discovery of omicron variant pandemic in Nigeria.

The walk for peace follows the outcome of the work of the judicial panel on restitution for victims of SARS related abuses and other matters.

The governor disclosed this in a statement signed by him on Thursday, November 9, 2021.

Sanwo-Olu says the suspension of the peace walk became necessary in order not to endanger the life of any Lagosian amid the outbreak of the omicron COVID-19 variant.
