Workers issue 3-day ultimatum over unpaid salary at OSOPADEC

Workers of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC have issued a three day ultimatum to the management of the commission to pay their October 2020 salary and other emoluments as approved by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The workers made up of the amalgamated union of public corporations, civil service technical and recreational services employees at the end of their congress threatened to down tools if their salaries are not paid.

The acting chairman of the workers’ union, Comrade Sola Ademuwagun, said the union has been putting pressure on the management for over 2 months after the governor directed that their October salary be paid.

He also accused the state accountant general, Laolu Akindolire of deliberately refusing to release funds in this regard.

The chairman of OSOPADEC, Mr Gbenga Edema declined comments on the matter.
