We will ensure local government autonomy – Senate Spokeman

The Senate says efforts are underway to ensure local governments autonomy is guaranteed in the ongoing constitutional amendment process.

Chairman Senate committee on media and publicity, Aliyu Sabi-Abdullahi disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Abuja.

Sabi-Abdullahi added that the senate is also addressing the concerns raised by the Nigerian union of teachers’.

The chairman senate committee on media explained that the amendment is in the overall interest of the country’s democratic stability and good governance.
