Waldrum thumbs up gallant Super Falcons despite defeat to Morocco
Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has praised his players for their outing in Monday night’s defeat to the atlas lionesses of Morocco.
The defending champions failed to make it to the final of the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations after a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat to the hosts.
The Super Falcons played majority of the game with nine players after Halimat Ayinde and Rasheedat Ajibade were dismissed for poor tackles.
The American tactician applauded his players for their doggedness despite the defeat.
Meanwhile, minister of youth and sports development, Sunday Dare has saluted the spirited display of Nigeria’s Super Falcons after their gallant defeat to Morocco in the second semi-finals of the African Women’s Cup of Nations.
The Super Falcons will square up with the She-Polopolo of Zambia on Friday, July 22nd in the third place match of the tournament.
