VCs express readiness to reopen universities
Some University Vice-Chancellors of federal and state tertiary institutions in Nigeria have expressed readiness to reopen schools.
This comes on the heels of the announcement by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) that varsities were not ready for reopening.
The VCS told newsmen that they had planned to reopen their institutions as directed by the federal government.
They debunked claims by ASUU that the tertiary institutions had no guideline for reopening stating that they had put measures in place to prevent an outbreak of the virus in the academic environment.
To buttress their position, they highlighted the successful examinations for students held in LASU in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines
