UNICEF asks government to stop abduction of school kids
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has frowned against the mass abduction of school children, particularly girls in Nigeria.
It says the trend is posing a serious threat to the future of children and development of education in the country.
UNICEF challenges both federal and state governments to protect learning facilities and the well-being of children in the country in the face of rising wave of kidnapping and other security challenges.
The chief of UNICEF field office, Kano, Maulid Warfa, stated these during a chat with newsmen.
He admonished traditional institutions to join hands with the government in tackling other nefarious activities orchestrated by hoodlums in the country.
