Uganda quarantines 100 over coronavirus fears

Uganda’s health ministry says more than 100 people remain in quarantine as a preventative measure against the possible spread of coronavirus.

Uganda has not recorded any suspected cases of the virus.

The ministry announced on Wednesday that those affected had arrived from China through the Entebbe international airport and included 44 Chinese nationals.

They will be monitored for 14 days by surveillance officers, health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng is reported to have said by Daily Monitor Newspaper.

Some are quarantined at two hospitals in Entebbe and the capital, Kampala, while others have been asked to stay home as health officials continue to monitor them.
